 Clear information on helmets
The requirements for bicycle helmets are well established on the market, but the situation is less good regarding knowledge of what the requirements, approval and standards actually entail.
For several years we have been a member of a European standardisation group together with the German safety-testing organisation TÜV, the Swedish Testing and Research Institute and the Swedish Consumer Agency.
The following applies:
Red buckle = Approved bicycle and inline-skating helmet CEN (European Standard 1078)
Green buckle = Helmet for small children CEN (European Standard 1080)
Recommended by the Swedish Consumer Agency as a bicycle helmet for children up to the age of 7.
Skiing and snowboarding helmet CEN 1077.
Important!!! No other helmets are to be used for bicycles or inline skating!
After an accident the helmet's function is lost and it must be discarded.
Tip!
You should ideally be able to get two fingers under the straps.
The helmet will then fit correctly.
